How can I remove scratches from oak flooring without needing to sand the whole thing?

How deep

you can get wax repair kits that involve melting the right coloured wax into the scratch and polishing it up when set .

just google wood floor wax repair kit

You could just rub some oil into the scratches. Try some olive oil on a small test area first. If you like the result, invest in some osmo polyx and rub that in for a permanent disguise.
Oak floors are going to get scratches whatever you do, especially lacquered ones.
Oiled floors are best.

My floor seems to be collecting scratches too

Where it's gone through the lacquer I have used a walnut

break the walnut so the white flesh is exposed, rub it in the scratch

It's not perfect but it hides the scratches

Never mind the scratches; we have the makings of a healthy diet here...

This worked really well on my rather battered (chestnut) floor

Only light scratches due to over zealous 10 month old in a baby walker combined with MIL's lax supervison.

How do I know if it is oiled or lacquered? I inherited the floor when we moved in.
