A biro shat itself while in my trouser pocket and I unwittingly smeared it into my car seat. I dabbed as much as I could off initially, but it has now dried.

My first thought was to blot it with some alcohol, but would that just dilute & spread? Or possibly leach the colour out of the upholstery itself?
Interested to hear how would you go about cleaning it off safely?
TIA
Soak IPA on to a duster type cloth then press down on top and leave. This worked on a carpet. Check regularly for any spread, if it doesn’t then leave over night then use 1001 in the morning to clear up any left over.
Thanks, will nip down to B&m then give that a go.
That looks like a job for Winston Wolfe.
IPA and blot don't rub. The idea is to dissolve the ink into a fluid you can then absorb. If there is any way to get behind the fabric then put a pad of cloth to get anything that tries to soak in rather than dab out. I managed to get most of a black Biro that was trodden into cream carpet his way. Most fabric dye is resistant to this so doesn't lose colour. Small areas and often rather than soak the whole lot and then dab as that lessens the amount that soaks back into the fabric never to be removed.
Will only really spread it around unless you use an extraction vac. (Rug doctor with hand attachment works perfectly)
Alcohol sprayed directly on the ink and agitate with a brush, then spray more alcohol on and really soak it, then extract with the Vac.
Might take a few goes, but it will work.
