We had posters made for Mothering Sunday in the shop.
Foolishly we had the date printed on it.
Rather than me mucking about with the original picture can we erase the date using a Mac?
We can buy a thing that does it but wanted to check that our very expensive computer doesn't already have such a thing.
What format is the poster in?
Depends on the file type.
Preview will open PDFs and you can put a block of single color over the offending date parts.
Similarly you could insert the file as an object in Keynote and use instant alpha or a block of color to obscure the date elements.
Otherwise I’d go for pixelmator or photoshop and use a clone or healing brush.
Actual designers may have better ideas.
...it depends! 🙂
Preview allows you to do some basic editing.
Or import/paste the image into Pages and stick a coloured oblong over the text and type new text in.
I'm around for the next ~hour, feel free to DM me - email the file and I can do it in photoshop - assuming it's some kind of image file? That'll keep the integrity of the file at least.. I'll refresh inbox a few times.
If you've got a newish Android, you could drop it into Google photo and use the magic eraser on the text.
If you haven't got a newish Android then either send it to me and I will do it or send it to flannol who I'm sure would do a better job unless he's just going to put a block of colour over it!
Out of interest could we see the original?
Your very expensive computer does have the tool you require - if you're after some kind of magic eraser / healing brush / clone tool type thing. Not entirely surprisingly it's in the Photos app.
@timmy that is the business. Ta.
While we are at it, how do we blur backgrounds?
how do we blur backgrounds
Squint, or alternatively, rub vaseline on your eyeballs, that works a treat.
Or you could use the "rub vaseline on your eyeballs" function in PhotoshopCS as it has an undo function.
Or just use one of the lens effect or blur tools
For future reference, you can use the Magic Eraser on iOS as well:

Squint, or alternatively, rub vaseline on your eyeballs, that
That only works for one person. If you want to blur the background for everyone else you need to rub vaseline over anything in view more than 100 yards away from your shop.
Or you could get get everyone to squint by putting a small dose of CS gas in the air conditioning.
