As title

Family moving from Bristol to Melrose in April. Any companies you would recommend or any ones you would stay clear of?

Thanks

Try a company at this end, local one might be cheaper.

I used the The Small Move Company when we moved from Bristol to Camridgeshore last year. They use smaller vans so aren't governed by the the taco regs which could be handy over that distance. They moved a 3 bed house in 3 Luton vans on one of the snow chaos days last years and they didn't grumble once.

We used:

No complaints and cheaper than all the other estimates. Just make sure you have a full slab of cheap Lager to keep the crew oiled!

Might be worth giving something like Anyvan a shot - makes the job visible to a lot of carriers and you might get a more competitive price if they're able to organise a return load

We moved Buckinghamshire to Melrose and used:

http://www.momentousmoving.com/uk.html

Previously they'd moved us to Germany and back.

Got a good deal as they've a depot/contract in Carlisle and we weren't in need of an instant move so it meant they could fit us into days when they'd no work.

Highly recommended. Full pack service etc.

Taz - plenty of MTBing here, and a lots of folk to ride with (if needed) 🙂

It probably makes more sense having a SW based removals firm, but when we moved within Edinburgh; and again from Edinburgh to Elgin (within interim storage complications) - we had Broughton Removals and had no complaints.

I used Bridge View Removals about 3 years ago.

They were very good. Friendly, efficient, helpful and they weren't expensive. It was a big Irish lad who was in charge, top bloke, can't remember his name though.

They were recommended to us and I would happily recommend them to you.
