Victor Ambrus, unfortunately passed away on the 10th his family have confirmed.
I still watch Time Team regularly and have always loved his drawings depicting days gone past. Sad news.
That is sad news. We had an exhibition of his work at the museum I used to work in, amazingly talented. But still lots of his drawings still up in the main galleries.
Really helped bring the location of the digs to life.
The entire series is on 4OD at the minute. Watched the first couple of episodes and was a little taken aback by how long ago it really was.
Sad news.
I preferred Meet the Ancestors. I wonder what happened to the team on that?

That's where I watch it.
There is the new "budget" Time Team starting very soon I think where they have digs in peoples back gardens. Looks better than it sounds!lol
On CH4 I believe.
Ooh. Anyone got any more details? I’ve got a ruin in my back passage that needs investigation.
I think you need a Proctologist not an Archeologist. Unless it’s really REALLY bad.
That's sad news.
I really like his style of drawing.
I was also regularly astounded at his ability to look at a broken bit of pottery or a buckle from a cape and then recreate a whole settlement or fort. 😉
For reasons I dont fully understand I'm now on season 7 on 4od as im binge watching them.
Talented guy.
RIP. But I am going to follow Duncan’s lead. They used to be a highlight of my Sunday teatimes when they were first shown. Remember also being very sad when Mick Aston died, in his case well before his time.
