I suffered a dislocated knee 13 days ago and currently in a full leg cast

100% resounded to having surgery to repair ligament damage etc, just awaiting a MRI to fully diagnose damage.

so my question is what sort of physical rehab can I do assuming surgery etc goes all to plan? I want to get back on a bike as soon as possible but don't want to risk damaging my knee again.

Can anyone who has had a similar injury recommend me any knee supports etc or do you just wear regular mtb knee pads etc.

Thank you for your comment

one bored mountainbiker 😐

They will probably give you physio when the time comes. However, NHS physio can differ from sports physio. Wor lass (ahsat) bust her knee and had to pay for a sports physio to get her knee back to normal. Different injury to yours though. The NHS were satisfied that she had got back to an acceptable standard of life/mobility. She's pretty much fixed now, just working on fitness and strength but its taken a long time.

ok ta I have private health insurance and a back to work rehab scheme so hopefully I will be able to get a lot more physio than just NHS standard.

Do a search on here. There's been a load of knee injury / physio threads recently.

I rode the 3 peaks cx 31 days after having a plica removed and some additional debridement.....I'll be having another op in the new year to rectify all the damage I did by not resting properly. My orthopedic surgeon actually bellowed at me 😳
