Macbooks in particular. Worth doing rather than getting a new one? I see i can save a couple of hundred quid if i went down this route but i'm not a computer wizz and would rather avoid any complications or issues.
And if they are a good idea, where is good to get one from?
Or just buy from the Apple Refurb store - I have bought quite a few over the years and not had a single issue with any of them (and they are all basically brand new).
Another vote for Hoxton Macs. Very helpful advice before you buy, wont over sell either.
All the ones I bought from there were posted, immaculately packaged with new power brick and cable. Indistinguishable from new.
If it comes back to Apple for the slightest reason then they can't sell it again as new, even though any fault has been rectified and tested. So they have to sell it as a refurb.
I've had refurbished Dell laptops for years now, with no problem.
