Looking for a MacBook - not bothered which model but finds a bit tight. The place I've gone to in the past hasn't got much in ATM - any recommendations for a decent refurb company?

I got one last year from Hoxton Macs and it was in all the original packaging and indistinguishable from a brand new one straight from Apple

It looks like they've got loads of Macbooks in

wow, that Hoxton Macs site is the biz - some great stuff.

over the last few years I've only bought refurb Macs/iPads, always from apple directly. But if Hoxton give good backup, there's some great deals on there.

I've bought a couple from https://macfinder.co.uk/ but the actual Apple store is good too. Anything we've bought from the Apple refurb store appears to be essentially brand new.

the Apple store deals look good - was hoping to get something a little cheaper but it may be worth paying the extra.

Thanks

Another vote for Hoxton Macs, got my Mac Mini M1 from them and the service was great. Condition was better than described too.

The Apple deals are only a few quid cheaper than the new prices from other suppliers.

Although to be fair, they probably are new. Returned products, etc.

glad to hear the good votes for Hoxton Macs - was planning to grab an M1 Mini off them soon. My 2015 MBP is starting to struggle for music tech stuff. Still great for general web browsing and whatnot though.

appears to be mostly obsolete stuff tho... don't buy an Intel Mac now, that would be mental 😂 M1 though... game on 👍

Hmmm - typing this on a 27" 32gb Ram i5 iMac which is still doing sterling colouring-in business on a daily basic.

M1 is great (I have an M1 Macbook Air), but Intel is still a very usable machine.

of course it is, I still use a few myself!! Just don't spend actual money on one now, when a few quid more will get you M1/2

I usually buy from the Apple refurb shop but the last purchase (M1 mini) was from John Lewis as they were a fair bit cheaper than Apple (and only about 50 quid more than a refurb) and they do 0% on most Apple stuff.

Still using a 2010 MBP on it's original battery!

OK, it's slow, but amazing it still works at all.....
