I received a payment through Paypal today for an item I'm selling. Turns out the item I'm selling won't fit so want to refund him. I withdrew the money into my savings account immediately so don't have a balance in my Paypal account, and if I go through the 'refund' links on PP, because the money is in my bank account they said it'll take 5 to 7 days to refund, so I want to just send him the money. He isn't answering emails at the moment so I just want to know, is the email address that shows on the payment details his Paypal address??

stick to paypal so theres a record with ebay/paypal of the refund. If you refund by other means he can claim he hasn't been reimbursed and paypal will suck the money back out of your bank.
I would stick to the paypal and just refund him via that. just keep the funds in your account.
I wouldn't pay them back any other way as they may just turn around and say they never got the payment, and as you didnt go through paypal kind of stuck.
