My wife was very taken with the Finisterre waterproof parka. She commutes to work on a dutch style bike in normal office clothes and this is the sort of thing that would be perfect. Except it is gossamer thin and delicate looking and doesn't look like it could handle the slightest snagging or misuse. Oh and its THREE HUNDRED POUNDS!
Anyone got any suggestions for something similarly fitting and reflective that might be slightly more hard wearing and not so spendy? Arse covering and ability to wear over proper clothes seem be a priority so traditional cycling style jackets are out.

Christopher Raeburn x Finisterre
Simple rule for life - Avoid anything that's listed as "BrandA x BrandB"
See also the word 'collab'.
Well you can avoid all that stuff, but then you might miss out on some interesting things. Most of my professional career has been collaborating with other separate organisations working (mostly) together to deliver projects.
For what it's worth, I have a number of items of Christopher Raeburn's collaborations with other companies and some of his own clothing and whilst they weren't cheap, they're extremely high quality, interesting in terms of design and materials, and even better made in the UK.
That new Rapha Commuter Jacket is very nice.

£100 which seems a bargain for most Rapha stuff! I saw them in one of the shops the other day, they sold 3 while I was in there! The pink one is a bit garish but the orange and black ones both look very smart. They do come up fairly large though, whatever you are in normal jackets, go one size down. Men's & Women's fit available.
Thanks, a few suggestions there. the Decathlon one is not very cool probably just as functional. Was hoping to fine reflective rather than dayglo as I'm not convinced dayglo does much once it's dark. Like that Moodride one. The cyclechic site does look promising - some of those capes/coats are just asking for some discreet reflective addition.
It’s probably possible to get iron-on reflective tape, but the Decathlon cape has front and rear light attachments:
COMPATIBILITY WITH A LIGHT
This product has two points, on the front and back, for attaching a VIOO CLIP, an LED light that clips on anywhere and unclips in an instant.
With a red or white light that can be used in continuous or flashing mode, you are clearly visible from up to 110 m away.
Battery life is 9 hours in flashing mode, 4½ hours in continuous mode. Easy to recharge via a USB cable (sold with the VIOO Clip).
Yeah, reflective iron-on here:
Workies waterproof hi viz Bomber jacket, Cheap as chips workies waterproof trousers and wellies prepped fireman style are the best and easiest to get on and off.
Dont cycle too fast, and even better with an electric bike.
