Gah! I hope adherence to lockdown policy is as strong.....
I took some green waste and black bag waste to the local tip as it's reopened, including some polystyrene packaging from the corners of the dishwasher we had delivered at the start of lockdown.
They wouldn't let me dump the polystyrene into the container because it wasn't in a black bag. Nothing wrong with the stuff itself, just that it has to be in a bag. Genuinely, they said I could go to the garage on the corner and buy a roll of black bags, put the polystyrene into a couple, and then they'd accept it. Denied because I didn't throw enough away!!
I was tempted to play the DomCum card and throw it all into the green waste bin instead.
Same here. Needed a new bed for my daughter, so the old bed is chopped up and stacked at the side of my garage, the mattress is in the greenhouse getting 'watered' with the tomatoes, and we can only take black bags, no green waste.
Just dump it next to the local reservoir - that’s what everybody seems to be doing round here!
