They've been around for ages.

As aside, was in the US last week, and not a single redirect/hijack page. Back in the UK, and plenty of them. Coincidence?

Yep, me to on IOS. Had to copy and paste this, getting the congratulations you’ve been selected for today’s Apple giveaway. Almost as soon as opening the forum.

I've deleted my favourites and resaved STW which has cured that free gift redirect. Never had it before and it just started today.

Were you using a different computer in US? Different or no cookies on it if so. The adverts chosen are based on your browsing habits which are stored in cookies. Though people report they get the redirects when using in-private browsing which is no cookies.

Could also be the ad engine is taking location into account, based on IP address.

Personally if I was doing the admin, I'd be scrapping the ad engine provider if they can't resolve serving up malware ads.

I was getting it constantly, pop up that I'd won
It knew what town I was in and who my internet provider is (small local company)
Clearing history and cookies etc. didn't help

Me neither. I don't get any redirects on the iPad. Very rarely access this site (or indeed any other) on the iPhone so can't comment on how prevalent it would be in that situation.

Given that it seems to affect only mobile devices, knowing where the device is being used might be useful as well. There could be a compromised access point.

Just FYI.. We haven't seen any issues at our end but we are looking closely. I'll report back if we find anything.

It was pretty bad yesterday Mark, it only affected this site

I know it may seem to you that it was only this site but I can categorically say it wasn't. Currently the entire global ad delivery network is affected. Note that the two worst incidents have happened at weekends. This is because they are more effective as the ability of companies to react quickly to incidents is reduced at weekends.

I was presented with the 'You've won an Iphone' pop up and multiple redirects while browsing the Guardian's website on Saturday.

They are back!

No idea what this is as my firewall blocks it.
