#Notices Drac has a very camp looking character. More hello sailor than hello cowboy.

Tried online for about 30 mins the other day and It's so far worse than Chapter 1 of Story Mode.

Despite what R* said, I think it's going to be another GTA Online, I'm sure millions of people will love it, but I won't be one of them. I'll find it a frustrating, grind of a thing with an open world that's not quite as detailed as the story mode full of psychopaths.

I've read lots of people say it's better to free roam out of town, away from others players, but aren't other players sort of the point?

I'm in Epilogue 2 in story mode and It's wonderful, I'm planning to spend a long time roaming the map, doing all the things I couldn't be bothered to do

Spoiler
with Arthur,
hunting the legendary  Animals, crafting stuff and looking for all the cool little side missions I've seen on YT, but never actually found myself.

They're reviewing the economy in multiplayer mode there's a patch and update due this week.

I’ve read lots of people say it’s better to free roam out of town, away from others players, but aren’t other players sort of the point?

Yup see if don't want to hogtied, stabbed, executed or blown up then best to play Minecraft.

I was roaming away out of sight and taking stranger missions up in the mountains to try and build up some cash for better guns before getting into any battles. Though turns out I could do with buying a warmer coat....

Hopefully the economy will be sorted, cause either people have been playing every second since its been on or they have dumped a load of cash into their character

In Online, Fishing is a good money earner. A single steelhead trout brings in as much money as a story mission

You currently can't but cash. Leveling up gets you treasure maps, gang hideouts may have one too, killing skining then selling the skin and coprse of the animal gets you cash or play the game modes.

Die, respawn, die, respawn, die. I don't understand the online game, can't go near a town without everyone killing me or at least trying to. Seems an utterly pointless addition to the main story tbh if you can't just go about your business getting to a shop or a mission start point. Utter pish.

I guess you'll have to wait until they bring on safe mode so that you can shop and pick flowers in peace.

Today we are starting to implement the first set of adjustments to the game including changes specifically geared towards creating a more balanced, fun and rewarding overall experience, across all modes and missions. These include:

• Increasing the cash and gold payments across a number of different activities including Free Roam Missions, Free Roam Events, replays of A Land of Opportunities Missions, Showdown Series modes and more.
• Reducing the prices of most weapons in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co Catalogue and Gunsmiths. For players that have already purchased weapons at the previous prices, we will automatically deposit the difference to player balances starting today - please look for an alert message the next time you log in to the Red Dead Online Beta to notify you of this change, refunds may take up until Monday, December 10th to reach all eligible players.
• Balancing the values of select pelts, skins and fish as well as horse reviver and pamphlets.
Of course our efforts to improve and balance the Red Dead Online Beta will continue. We are conscious of and still evaluating an assortment of further adjustments based on feedback from the community. We are currently working on fixes for some persistent bugs that are causing some players to be kicked from sessions, and we aim to have fixes for these live next week. We will also continue to review all the feedback and suggestions so please keep them coming to reddeadonline.com/feedback.

As an added thank you for playing and helping us through the beta period, we're also awarding everyone that joined in to play the Red Dead Online Beta at any point through midnight PST today with a gift of RDO$250 and 15 Gold Bars. Gifts should start arriving today and will hit all eligible players by Friday, December 14th.

Once again, we want to thank everyone for playing the Red Dead Online Beta and sharing their experiences so far with us. There’s still lots more to come so please stay tuned!

Decent response, I wasn't looking forward to grinding for a week to buy a tin of beans. Still need to get to the shop without getting shot though.

Has anyone else got stuck at 75% on the online story progress?
Turns out it was because I was too honourable (I had done that on purpose), so had no option but to go on murderous rampages round the streets of Saint Dennis (there a brilliant camping spot you can sit and just keep picking of police in until you get bored or your ammo runs out)

Honourable, it’s based on decisions you make during the missions (let people live or die) and the missions you do (e.g convoy escort + or assassinations -)

Edit: thinking maybe you were joking

I know this is hardly news, but the maps big isn’t it! I rode from Blackwater to Armadillo and back via Theives Landing for a mooch about. Took 45 mins!

Drac has ruined flower picking for me, brute.

You just have to find the right spots. I've been just on hunting for an hour, I was killed once and that was because I pinched his perfect dear carcass of their horse.

Got my cash, got my gold, got me my pump action shotgun 😉 That makes the gang hideouts a bit easier. Certainly finding more hideouts and better missions, not sure if that is level up or upgrades to the game, bit quieter in there so apart from becoming target of assassination no randoms have killed me yet.

I have had a few randoms kill me, not sure why but they seem to holdup in the towns and shoot anyone coming in.
Having a pump action shotgun is a game changer close up.
When me and a mate posse up we have taken to killing a couple of the women and taking their hats, i think it must surprise a few when we come riding into town with a flowery hat on 🙂

I'm still only on chapter 3! I keep getting majorly distracted and spending hours not progressing the game. Yesterday I literally spent an hour just trying to bag a perfect squirrel and failing. Today in real life at work I saw a squirrel and my immediate thought was to go for my bow and arrow 🙄

I wouldn’t rush it, enjoy it.

If nothing else, I couldn’t be sure but the map seems a bit light on random encounters since I ended the story.

Still, I shit a Cowboy in the head with an explosive round from about a mile away with my sniper rifle tonight, I’m not sure that could ever get old.

I did enjoy the redemption end to the main game, somehow made the transition into what followed a satisfying end.

I revisited online this week after my initial disappointment, it's got a lot better with less people randomly killing me for no reason, money seems a bit easier to come by as well. I like sneaking up on people whilst they are fishing (they can't see the radar then) and stowing a perfect pelt on their horse as a surprise gift then leaving before being spotted.

I also like taking revenge on those that do randomly kill me by stalking them afterwards until they quit and load another map.

Legendary Aligator is a monster!

I’m enjoying fishing and camping a bit too much. Set up by the lake, good fire going, catch and eat some fish. I should really be smoking weed to enjoy it so much.

Buy GTA5 tom.
Every time I load up RDR2 5 minutes later I'm like "why am I not in a vehicle?" even the pushbikes in GTAV are less tedious than this ****ing horse.

Anyone want to buy my copy PM me (PS4)

I found an inactive player today (just standing in the middle of nowhere), so I hogtied him and loaded him on the back of my horse (was on there for over 30mins). Even if I got killed he was still there when I’d call my horse
I’d like to think that the player came back to their computer and found it funny

I was in the woods the other night and saw a car wheel with loads of leather straps on it. I briefly thought of getting my journal out and drawing it as a point of interest. Then i realised im not a cowboy and that my life is not on PS4 . or is it?

😂

I was answering a phonecall the other week when someone rode in and hogtied me, he took me on a journey while I was chatting. He stopped and took me off his horse, lay me in the gorund but must have got distracted so I escaped, pulled out my shotgun and headshot him then blew up his horse with dynamite.

Nah! I kill that urge by reading your posts on here.

i’ve finished it. now what?

I mooched around for a bit looking for more side missions but a lot seem to disappear between 6 and the epilogue.

Tbh I tried online, didn’t like it so I started again, much slower pace, hardly bother with missions once on Ep3 - honestly I’ve found so much new stuff this time around it feels like I hardly touched the surface first go.

Got the legendary coyote so think I'll try and track down the rest of them now..

I have deliberately been avoiding the main mission as I don't want it to end. However, last night I played the chapter 6 train mission and was pretty choked up afterwards.

So, obviously without spoiling it for others, is there much to do in the story following this? I don't want it to end, it's been totally enthralling!

I'm quite far through the challenges and haven't tried the online game yet, is that worth playing? (I don't use a mic).

Haven't touched it since I discovered the magnificence of Project Cars 2 - great to have it (and Elite) sitting there waiting for when I get bored of crashing Saubers, 917s and Lotus 49s. 🙂

Yes, 2 episodes of Epilogue, the first is a bit pedestrian, the second very good.

I've pretty much played it to death so I doubt I'll buy it again for the PC.

Seems they're tagging on a bit more story mode, I'd like to hear a bit more on that.

It's about time they teased GTA 6!

I remember there being uproar in the game industry because GTA5 took so long to arrive after 4! There's 5 years between them, GTA 5 was released 6 years ago!

I think it’s one of the best games ever made, but it’s slow paced and story driven, it’s not GTA on horses.

I've pre-ordered the PC version. It's due for release tomorrow - anyone got half a clue what time?

Also, when these games come out, is there often an extra download on the day itself? Reason being is I'm offsite and won't have access to speedy broadband tomorrow.

Do a pre-download if they offer one they’ll likely be another on launch but not too bad, it was released at midnight in the UK on PS4.
