Clearing out one of the cupboards in preperation for Gixer jnr arriving in the next few days. have about 100 or so VHS cassettes. Seems a waste to throw them into the bin for landfill. does anyone have any alternative ideas?

Stick them in a box with the VCR for when he's old enough to watch films but not old enough to mess about with your primary DVD / Blu-ray / holographic projector? Failing that, Freecycle?
There's little to no interest in cassettes, sadly. You'll probably struggle to give them away to charity shops even. Used DVDs are worth buttons, let alone tapes.
