Do they expect the power supply back with the mobile?

or does it just need to be the phone itself?

Often not, ime.

Orange gave me loads of cashback on old phones and explicitly told me nothing other than the actual phone was needed. And possibly the battery, I can't remember.

Read what it says on the website in my experience you can keep memory and charger and any accessories that come with it.

It the precious metals inside the phone they want, they don't recycle them to be used again IIRC.

There be gold and stuff in them their phones!

"A ton of cell phones can yield as much as 280 grams of gold"

If that's the case why does the value they give you decrease with the age/desirability of the handset?

Do the handsets have to be working then?

What else are you going to do with an old, undesirable phone?

But the amount of precious metal in it is unchanged...so if they're only after that as per z1ppy's comment why does the price reduce?

because you have no other options to get rid of it apart from putting it in the bin!

Am tempted to mleh this thread, but ok I'll qualify my statement with:

"some 'newer' phones will recycled as phones, if they have a market value higher than value of there internal metal, the majority of 'old' stuff will recycled be for the precious metals."

Alright?
