created a second profile for being anonymous when posting on matched betting facebook groups. (suspicious of bookie spies)
all was well, just used to 'switch profile' at the top right of the page between the two accounts for a month or two, but now its not there to switch to.
it disappeared when i cleared cache and cookies when trying to sort out a different website problem, whether thats related or not i dont know. im guessing not as it doesnt appear on my work laptop either now.
all of my googling takes me to the same things in the help area, no live chat, message sent to their help centre hasnt been answered, so i may have to do another one.
cant for the life of me remember how i did it tho, they certainly dont make it easy to either create a second profile, or contact them.
anybody a whizz on FB that can help me out please? id rather recover this one than create a new one.
thanks
from their help page
that option only appears after the 2nd account has logged in on that browser, so it's disappeared as you've cleared the cache and not logged in with it since.
So I don't think the account actually needs recovering exactly, you just need to log in to FB again with the email/password combo that you used for the 2nd account. If you can remember (and have access to) the email address at least, you can probably request a password reset.
I'm sure that goes against all their T&Cs anyway, so hardly surprising!!they certainly dont make it easy to either create a second profile

i dont think i used a different password, it was all done within my primary account. i certainly havent made a note of anything different, which i would have done if i needed it i think.

it didnt seem to as they asked me to provide proof of some sort that it was still me, so it wasnt done in a dishonest way. just cant remember what i did now 😀
thanks
Ah right, that sounds like something different maybe - you’re allowed to have an identity connected to a “page” (business or group) that you have. It’s not a 2nd account as such. Possibly they twigged you weren’t using it as intended?
aye, possibly then. just seems coincidence that it was immediately after a refresh of cache/cookies.
ah well, no worries.
thanks
still googling away and i can see that to 'change who i am commenting as'.... i need to switch profiles. this is facebook advice and says to click the profile pic top right and switch profiles. so its possible, i just dont know how to create another profile (again).
anyone else maybe know how to do this please?
thanks
I've no idea about multiple Facebook profiles, but if I wanted to do what you're seemingly doing then I'd use two different browsers.
I'm sure this is to do with the business/group page I mentioned earlier, i.e. I can choose to comment either as myself or as my business name. I am 100% sure there is no mechanism in Facebook for normal users to easily swap identities/be anonymous etc (except where this is explicitly allowed in Groups) as this obviously could be exploited by stalkers etc.still googling away and i can see that to ‘change who i am commenting as’
as above just use another browser or privacy mode or whatever and sign up to a new account with a different email address. (Do the bookies really have spies on FB?!)

grrrrr.... the most obvious answer sometimes is most obvious. just 5 bloody minutes on something ive spent ages trying to sort.
now to try and find some way of deleting that 'page' ive just set up on my real account bahhhh.
thank you kind sir, you iz jeeniuss

thanks, another person with more brains than my good self. and to answer your last question, i dont know. but if i was a bookie and knew about people making money from me, i'd probably join the group where they all reside, and cross-reference a few names to check accounts 😉
ive no proof that they actually do this tho, just trying to last as long as i can before they bin me. (already lost a few anyway which is par for the course but playing the percentage survival game :D)
thanks for your help
