If it were feasible to hold it until we can travel a bit more freely I would gratefully accept that. I'm only in Sheffield so easy enough for me to swing over for it - just feel it's stretching the definition of a 'reasonable journey' as things stand.

Of course if it needs gone and someone is local they have priority...

@mcmoonter - excellent. Was thinking of using one of those online steel fab places that do one-offs but an OEM drop in would be even betterer. Feel I will have to fully refurb it - new paint etc or should I leave it patinaed?

Thanks but no need - im happy to pull it out of a skip and give it a new home (i already have a Record #23).

Have just tried it, the screw and QR is fine, the jaw threads look okay for the three of them but one has a snapped screw in it. The handle is straight.

A thing of beauty. That screw should be easy enough, new set of jaws and I can re-enact the vice scene from Casino get making some bits and bobs I’ve been meaning to for a while.

That’s certainly been well abused!
Still, the jaw faces look straight, once that screw’s been hoiked out and new jaws fitted it ought to have decades of use left in it.

Cleaned up beautifully and looked great with a lick of paint.
