For my seven year old daughter. Some that are fun to watch for inspiration and some with tips for learning to ride. What have you got for us?
Jaws is a bit of a legend. Might be some inspiration or a lesson in what not to do! Not checked for blue language though so might be worth checking if you show it your daughter
Watch two of the all time greats for inspiration

Braille Skateboarding on YouTube. Aaron Kyro is passionate about getting the world on a skateboard, he's also apparently a Scientologist but we can't all be perfect.
All the older transworld videos are quite child friendly.I always liked transworld videos as they were well edited and kind of arty. 411vm did a couple of learn to skate type bits. Their video magazine was always worth watching. A lot of stuff has content or language I wouldn’t recommend to a kid! A lot of the bigger brands like element would be good. Bit out of touch with current videos though!
What about some of the awesome female skaters? Lizzie Armanto, mimi Knoop, cara Beth-burnside, elissa steamer? There are a bunch of younger girl skaters whose names have slipped my mind
Richie Jackson is always good to watch as really creative.

Jonny Giger is a chilled dude
I should add Hurley- hallowed ground is one of my favourites. Anything with Lincoln ueda and Bob burnquist in it!
Dc shoes video although old has some great Danny way footage.
I lean towards Vert and park skating mainly
'The search for Animal Chin' has always been favourite, if she's happy with old stool skating in a full movie format.
Some very young looking 'legends' included for good measure.
Complete movie is on YouTube.
Useless Wooden Toys is another classic old skool skate vid.

I love a bit of Frankie Hill for sketchy and there's always...
WHAT ARE YOU DOING BOB!
Not really for young daughters, but you skate folk need to watch the Epicly Later'd series. Especially Heath Kirchart episode. Legendary 😁
For a bit of background, Dogtown and Z-Boys. It's on Netflix.
I cannot stand Braille, and anything to do with Aaron 'creepy scientologist' Kyro. There was also some kerfuffle a while ago about one of the Braille lot and underage girls, but I couldn't tell you how true that is.
Check out channels like Girl Skate, Lovenskate and Plank Zine (I follow them on Insta, but I would imagine they have a YouTube presence) for actual real people learning to skate. I find that more inspirational than Jaws mouthing off at security because they won't let him jump down a 20 set.
Also Daewon and Rodney as per above, it's always a good day when Daewon releases a new Insta clip. Boy is ridiculous.
Something kids might find fun is Matt Tornasello's vids
Thank you, STW.

If I'm remembering right that's a new deal vid with Ed Templeton? Makes me feel really old as I remember when that came out.
If you want really old school, h street's hocus pocus is worth a watch. But the daddy of them all is Public Domain. First skate vid I ever saw, hawk and McGill on the vert ramp...amazing. I was hooked on skating for about 4 years after I saw that.
I love Jonny Giger’s channel.
The Matt Tomasello stuff is bonkers but fun
Ooh, have a look at Chad Caruso's 50 tricks in 50 States series. Mostly mini / transition, but a really good watch.
Check out Andy Anderson. He's a young rider with a unique style and doesn't limit himself to one particular style of riding.
Also, he always wears a helmet in case you're trying to encourage your daughter to wear on 🙂
Have a look on YouTube for the following:
Atlantic Drift - Episode 5 - Hippy Jumps
(just all-round cool)
ANDREW REYNOLDS Straight through the gates at Hollywood or it does not count
(swear check required, recommend to watch with sound down)
Evan Smith Peace part Element
(just amazing)
It's a great sport. I spent the happiest days of my life on my board.
Thrashin’
Dunno why that Alva video recommendation thread got closed. Did a search and couldn't find a repeat. But thanks to @racefaceec90 for posting that. Just watched, absolutely brilliant. All the names I remember from when I started in the 70s
Relink in case the closed thread has dropped off
Er bump. WTF doesn't this show on the front page?
cheers DezB 👍
i think it was because it was a link only that i did was the reason it got closed (got an email from stw about the thread saying that).
apologies to the mods btw.
+1 for Dogtown and Z Boys.
I've never skateboarded as just remaining upright challenges my legendary sense of balance and coordination, but even I enjoyed the nostalgia of it.
because it was a link only
New policy I suppose. You must express an opinion 😉
Lance and Cab at Birmingham wheels 1988.
Anyone else there?
Ah man, that Alva video sent me down a wormhole of skate videos...
some Rodney Mullen stuff is mindblowing. Check out Physics Girl’s analysis of The Impossible.
But this one, just a beautiful thang all round really...
Thanks for the bump and all the recommendations.
Aaron Kyro worked for me for teaching instruction (I can't skate), she liked the french "girl skate" vids, didn't like Hyo Jo ("she's just dancing"). Loads of other good stuff up there.
Someone from another forum pointed me at this, Thresher might fall foul of the style police but I enjoyed it.
