Ok first things first, our days of heading up to 'cream' and 'renaissance' are behind us and we are up for a more mature evening (I did google adult clubs in Edinburgh and my wife definitely won't be up for that)of nice food and maybe some live music... anyone got any suggestions for something this weekend....

Is the bongo club still going? I would say blue blazer for few pints, bar kohl fir cocktails then bongo club for some dancing. Or comedy club if you want something bit different.

I'm probably showing my age but tend to find that when I go out in Edinburgh it's generally for a nice meal and then the theatre. The Lyceum is a favourite as it has cosy little 2-person boxes.

Have to second the suggestion of the blue blazer. Great wee pub.

If your looking for something a bit more unusual, then panda and sons is worth a look. Speakeasy style place Doing mainly cocktails but always a good atmosphere.

The other standard recommendation is under the stairs, the food is really good.

Upon re-reading my post, it would appear my wife manages to get me to go to more cocktail places than I would like to admit!!!

There's a cocktail bar in the west end (on Queensferry Street) called 52 Canoes. Kind of a Tiki bar?

Really nice place and the food is good too.

What kind of music do you guys like? Edinburgh isn't the best for live music. Have a look on www.list.co.uk to see what's on.
