Any good suggestions for me and my 16 year old son. Wanted for 2 nights in a couple of weeks time and mid week. Thanks

There's loads to choose from

Do you want to rough it? Or toilets, showers, electric? near a pub, near walks or bike trails, road biking, MTB?

Dark Peak or White Peak?

Eric Byrne memorial just outside Baslow. Basic and quiet with great views of Birchen Edge. just pitch up and the lady will collect a few £ in the morning. Don't pitch in the cow field though, make sure the field your in has the bins and fire extinguisher in. Have to carry your stuff up the track so not for everyone.

A few suggestions to get you started.

Laneside in Hope. More caravans than tents but very good location for biking, beer and bike shop. Often fully booked though.

North Lees outside Hathersage. Secluded spot, bit of a way for beer and food but a pleasant walk on a footpath, maybe 15 mins in to Hathersage. Camping pods available and good for access to Stanage.

Upper Booth in Edale. Cracking location. Again pretty remote. Plenty of biking and walking from the (tent) door.

Five Acres Farm in Wardlow. Never had a problem getting a spot here even when busy elsewhere. Laid back site, fairly basic facilities but more than enough to get by. Nice pub in Foolow or an experience in the Three Stags Heads.

Barn Farm in Birchover. Family centric site with wood fired pizza and butty van on weekends. Very nice facilities, small shop on site, close to Bakewell and Chatsworth.

Newfold Farm in Edale, near to Jacob's Ladder and all the classics, two good pubs and plenty of room 😀

Lots to check out, thanks all. A shower block, place to pitch a two man tent and decent pub are the key points, and we’re hiking on this trip

Barn Farm in Birchover  is good

Fouffinside in Parwich is basic but ideal for Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail. Decent pub down the road

Lathkill Dale site at Monyash is good for local walks, great pub in the village

Lime Tree Park just outside Buxton is nice.
No pub though - you'll have a 10min stroll to Buxton for that.
