I'm on a mission to resolve my migraines (see other thread https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/migraine-sufferers-assemble-please-share-your-wisdom/ ) and one of the things I have discovered is there is a strong correlation between migraine and being pre-diabetic or type 2, or even type 1. Migraine may be a form of metabolic derangement.
I've been wearing a continuous glucose monitor for a week now, and yeah, it seems my blood sugars are on the high side or normal. I'd like to try eating like a diabetic for a while to see how that helps/hinders my migraines.
If anyone has any recipe book recommendations or meal plans or the like - I'd be really grateful. Finding the selection on Amazon a little overwhelming.

The Fast 800 series are good for simple, tasty carb swaps, as is the Blood Sugar diet.
I’ve been type 1 for 25 years and sides are still the enemy, especially when eating out. It’s usually a case of what do you want with your chips!

Cooking normal meals and swapping out the carby sides is relatively easy. I need to knuckle down again though, lost 15kg two years ago but put 10kg back on this year as I let things slip.
Eat like a diabetic? 😀
Avoid the cheap simple carbs - white rice, white pasta, white sugar and white bread. Sack off cereals. Accept that chips can use a lot of insulin to get you back into normal range blood sugar. So can curries (rice / breads) and pizza (mmmm pizza).
My meals today - 4 eggs scrambled with mushrooms for breakie. Lunch I had two apples and a couple of cheeseburgers (no bun, wrapped in lettuce with toms and pickles). This afternoon I ate some chilli biltong and for dinner I had a kids fish and chips.
When you get a migraine... Do you keep a food diary??
