That’s it really. For SPDs. Anyone recommend any?
Casteli "Toe thingies:. Work well for me.
One pair typically last a winter.
I do however mainly use them on road or gravel.
Walking does eventually wear them out.
I've got dhb ones and carnac/planets
The planet X ones are small. The l/XL are tight on a 44 shoe. The dhb ones are thicker and easier to get on.
I'd just buy something cheap. They don't normally last if you end up running/walking regularly so just buy something cheap.
I have some Castelli ones, they worked very well, kept my toes toasty and dry(ish). Kind of worn out now from being used so much off the bike.
I've not yet found a pair that fit on chunky size 44 SPD shoes - would only be used on road but have SPDs on all my bikes
Can't help with toe covers but my solution this winter was to buy a pair of SPD shoes big enough for a seriously thick pair of socks. This has the added bonus of keeping the ankles warmer if the get splattered with a bit of mud or spray.
Endura used to do some - I’ve a pair & still use them occasionally.

I've got the Endura Urban Luminite full shoe covers.
They fit over my size 46 specialized recons as they open fully thanks to the velcro. Had the first pair for 5 years before they were completely ruined. 2nd pair in use now.
Thanks All. Went for some Madison XL at £2
Also gone for the Madisons, see how they do
Had some mavic ones for a good few years now, very knackered but still going. I’d definitely recommend toe covers as a concept - make a big difference.
I bought some giro ones last winter on a whim. Love them on gravel/road when it's a bit nippy/splashy but not full winter boot weather.
