I can’t be arsed carrying everything all the time anymore, so would be getting wheeled carry on to take a weeks stuff.
ive already got a more 2-3 day business carry on, but isn’t really big enough for a week to 10 days. looking for a 40l wheeled duffle sort of thing, carry on capable (excluding the shite airlines).
any recommendations ?
Seen the osprey transporter 40, sojourn 40 and the eastpak transvers small. The transvers frame doesn't look as protective as the osprey, is all I can see in differences. Oh and the price.
Transporter isn't wheeled is it? But personally I'd always go with a rucksack rather than wheeled and with a waist belt if carrying any distance. (bag is probably going to be 10-15kg max)
Similar but cheaper is the Decathlon version.

Much more expensive but lovely (I've got the bigger bag and it's excellent) - https://www.discoversalkan.com/products/the-carry-on

The Eastpak Transverz CNNCT S is a good bag. It's made with heavier duty material than the regular Transverz with better corner protection. The extra external pockets are very useful as well. Currently on offer for £126 direct from Eastpak UK in black or blue.
You won't go wrong with either the osprey or the eastpak tbh. We have the larger Eastpak which we use to check in for skiing and I have the non-wheeled Osprey Transporter.
BUT, I'd echo the point of not using wheeled cabin bags.
I’ve tried to use the quote function, but if I do it doesn’t actually let me type outside of the quote control. Am sure it worked the other day.

that eastpak looks like just the job, though I’ll try and find an option which isn’t quite so checky designerish, as that look isn’t really me. Would rather just vivid bright colours, so I don’t lose the thing.
have to ask, what’s wrong with wheeled carry on bags ?
A couple of sober options here

Wheels add weight and bulk and are generally only useful on smooth surfaces in airports and hotels - well that's my view anyway.

Wardow have some Eastpak options for around £80

I don't travel much now, but did globally for 20 years - wheeled bags ARE the answer, in fact even my 1-2 day laptop backpack had wheels (and a handle).
For a week, I use to use something like this:
Platinum® Elite Rolling Garment Bag (61 x 62 x 27 cm) – Travelpro® Europe
I travel a fair amount with work - flights and trains, UK and Europe mainly, and 2-5 days duration typically, once or twice a month.
I'm definitely in the wheeled is better camp, I have had too many experiences with a 20-30l laptop backpack on a warm sweaty trip and turning up with my smart work jacket in a creased damp mess. So for wheeled options I use Monos carry on - they are not cheap, but mine get a lot of use. I have 2 of the carryon ones, the smaller fits EasyJet, the larger fits overhead on BA etc. They have both had many miles trundling along city streets from station/hotel/office etc.
I wouldn't be able to justify purchasing for occasional travel. If it's a more casual trip I do have the 40l Osprey Farpoint one (without wheels) with the fold away backpack straps and it's pretty good.

I think it completely depends how you travel. if you're dressed for work and not doing more than airport-railway-station-taxi-hotel then wheels all the way. But I always piss myself when I see someone dragging a wheeled bag along a beach or through a ski resort with the wheels jammed with ice and gravel.

Or around any cobbled street in a European city, bag bouncing from wheel to the other.
You are also much more likely to get size and weight checked at the gate with a wheeled bag.

A chauffeured car to/from the airport and then into work each day - is their another way to travel 😉
Returning to this briefly, saw the eastpak tranverz at the weekend and thought they looked very studenty, really small and somehow 40l ! and not really that nice.
Not a duffel, but just bought two Samsonite Essens in smallest size. Back from a week away with work. made four (rather than the planned two) flights on a variety of planes* and my case performed flawlessly. The case closes with clamps not zips, is light enough, well built, replaceable wheels and five year guarantee. Downsides - no external pockets (need another carry-on for liquids still), and can't extend if that matters (but will ALWAYS be correct size at check-in). Delighted. Whether Mrs TiRed can get a week's clothing into the same case remains to be seen, but two of these rather than one more expensive premium case was my thinking.
Pick your colour, mine is blue... https://www.samsonite.co.uk/essens-spinner-55cm--radiant-yellow/146909-4702.html
*Flights: LHR-PHL plenty of room, fits wheels first on a widebody. PHL-Toronto on a baby Embraer, fit in widthways and the plane landed the right way up too! Air Canada Toronto to Dublin, again a wide body, and finally RYANAIR 737 to BHX, fitted wheels in first. So four flights and it never left my side.
