Looking for some decent shoes have to be comfy for every day use, waterproof Maybe, and Black Mostly.
Haglofs Vertigo II if you can find them, not cheap but last really well and can be re- soled. Also super comfortable and supportive.
Running and sturdy walking shoes are quite different..I'd suggest a pair of each.
Well not so much running then I have those already, and I have walking Boots, just want something in between and anything people really love.
The Haglofs Vertigo 11 look good so far.
Salomon X-Ultra 3 Mid GTX are a good mix of comfy as anything, like wearing a trainer, and hardwearing.
2 year warranty with Salomon if the lining fails etc.

My current walking shoes are 5.10 Camp 4
Used them in the UK, Alps and very happy with them.
You can get then with GTX, but I don't bother as they cope well with light rain and dry out ok.
