I've been listening to TED talks for a while but it seems that of late they have become a summary of someone's research that they are about to release rather than exploring ideas and it's getting a bit dull. Anyone got recommendations for their favourite TED stuff?

I'd love to see Ron Swanson do a talk on "manstuff".
+1 The Ken. Think this was the first TED lexture I saw, and still enjoy it from time to time as a reminder. He is a natural raconteur, humorously self-effacing and spot-on, IMO.
Have a look here too - Do Lectures
I just listened to the Monica Lewinsky talk. Very compelling and thought provoking.
Ah, the Monica Lewinsky one is wonderful. Should be stickied. Some talk a lot in their slot but don't really say much. She said lots but still had one clear message. Beautifully done and, as forzafkawi said, thought provoking which is what these are meant to do

I just tried it with a business process expert at the keyboard, his boss the logistics manager and his boss, a senior director, stood behind him.
Worth a listen perhaps

That depends on your viewpoint......
Some of us believe that education and success is more than answering a question with paper and pencil on a fixed day....
Mmmm it's more schools try to do what government demand jump through hoops hit targets and testing etc. I don't know one teacher that thinks this is the best education for young people, but if you don't do it you don't have a job.
I'm a chemistry teacher, but my envirnnmental science class is more educational. Although I'm sure they'll be confused by the purple carrots when we pick em
I really like all the ones with teh tag "robots" and "drones".
Some of the "insect robotics" ones from a really fat american guy are interesting.
Taking legs off cockroaches and noting they are JUST as fast, is sick but enjoyable!

Sir Ken's a comedian, Matt. Gives a good talk, but there's nothing under the hood - yet teachers think he's a guru. Find it strange that someone who really knows about teaching and developing creativity in kids (ie you and other real teachers) defer to such an obvious charlatan.
Quite enjoyed this one:
Spoiler alert
It isn't actually about drawing.
