Please, have a few days where I have complete control of the remote.

was looking forward to the platform 2, but that was a bust. Sci if horror would be awesome, think like “life”.

whatyagot?

Enjoyed Heretic recently (Prime), not sci-fi and kind-of a horror/thriller but excellent anyway.

Longlegs the same.

Deffo Longlegs .. properly disturbing

Talk To Me

Wolf Man is decent

For gore fun - (about a kidnapped ballet dancer, but the name escapes me!) - Abigail

Megan for a bit of sci-fi/horror/humour 😀

The Substance is sci-fi ish, but I didn't really like it

Longlegs I watched when it came out, loved it, genuinely weird and disturbing!

I’d forgotten about heretic with Hugh Grant. Thanks.

thanks for the other suggestions will check them out, esp talk to me and Abigail which does look fun

The witch sounds good too.

and must finish the black phone.

The Witch is one of my favourite horrors.

Also Midsommar. Love that film

Bones & All is a very cool film

Not recent ones but if you can do subtitles then some of the Japanese horror films (J-Horror) are really unsettling without being too gory. Pulse (dir. Kiyoshi Kurosawa) is a really creepy ghost tale which doubles as an allegory for social disconnection caused by the internet. I say internet and not social media because it was released in 2001. Way ahead of its time.

The same director got his break in 1997 with a supernatural detective / psychological thriller called Cure. It just got re-released in 4K and is an absolute belter. You will be thinking about it for weeks.

Dark Water (dir. Hideo Nakata of Ring fame) is another genuinely terrifying ghost story and a personal fave.

The original Ring (Ringu) is worth a watch, but the sequels / prequel / remakes aren't that great.

Audition (dir. Takashi Miike) - not for the faint-hearted. Don't read / watch anything about it beforehand.

The best Western one I've seen in the past decade was Hereditary. Got the Blu Ray but in no rush to see it again. Too scary.

I wasn't a massive fan of Longlegs, it seemed a bit obvious for whatever reason. Worth watching but over hyped.

I did like The Moor, set on the yorkshire moors. I discounted it at first assuming it was to do with the moors murders but it isn't, at least not explicitly, although you obviously can't avoid some crossover given the subject matter.

Japanese horror, like the sound of that. If it’s anything like Korean horror it’ll be pretty good. I did enjoy I saw the devil, definitely not a family friendly k film.

Watched Abigail which is just an insane & hilarious gore fest which I did enjoy. It’s not a complicated movie.

then watched the witch again (I’d seen it before but forgotten)

Heretic and late night with the devil are both next. then cure.

thanks for the recommendations

Train to Busan is a solid Korean zombie flick.
Would totally recommend.

My mate reckons he didn’t sleep properly for a week after watching Threads, if that’s terrifying enough for you?
