Following on from the list on the updated pebble is can anyone recommend me some apps to install on my new pebble time?

The time isn't limited on number of apps that can be installed so fire away with as many as possible...

Edit: I'm an android user of that makes a difference

@cougar - just get one anyway (time or time steel).

It's brilliant without any extra apps in any event. The voice recognition is brilliant.

See a text or Facebook messenger notification, what's app etc and hit reply and then voice and speak away. Even recognised 'wangle' which made me smile :).

Fitness tracker hooks into Google health, weather on on the clock screen etc.

Really is very very good.

Picked my steel up for £111 of Google brand new, sealed...

I'll +1 that the pebble time is very good but only if a smar****ch is for you.

Apps I have and use

Hive for pebble - can control hive heating

Pblcamera - phone camera remote including being able to see from the camera on the watch. Good for being able to take a photo with you in it 🙂

Voicenote - you can dictate a note and it'll convert it to text and store it

Dashboard - control various settings on your phone from your watch

But really, for me the apps are secondary. It's great on the bike as you can pick and choose what texts and calls to ignore and even reply to txts and whatsapps directly from the watch

Thanks Nemesis. A few to go on there. Even at home I have the phone or far less often which is a good thing.

Like the fact I don't actually have to have it on me. Can just leave it in the bedroom and deal with anything worth dealing with the and then.

EDIT: love Dashboard! Worth it for the find phone thing which works even if you've left your phone on silent. Genius...

One of the real highlights for me is the vibrate on the watch. It means my phone is anyways on silent and I don't need an annoying ringtone.

It's also brilliant as an alarm because it's silent and doesn't wake anyone else up.

At the moment at least, the voice texting doesn't work with iOS.

I keep looking at the Pebble, but the Sony Smar****ch 3 isn't much more at the moment, and is Android Wear with built-in GPS, etc...

My snar****ch 3 went back for a pebble time. 1 day battery life want cutting it.

Autopebble is good if you have tasker and can be bothered to set it up. Sleep as android is both a good alarm app and sleep tracker

A friend is lending me his Pebble (original) for a couple of weeks.

I use Spotify, Strava, Google stuff (Inbox, Calendar, Drive, etc.), Twitter, Instagram, Facebook. I'll be at work for a week and on holiday for a week. Suggestions for apps, please?

I meant to ask you about that but I'd forgotten who'd written it.

Am I being dim / blind though? I can't immediately see how to download it...?

Presumably, click on the big, red install button?

I'm not quite that dim. That takes me to an "about" page.

Ah, wait, do I need to be using the phone's web browser? How very 20th Century.

Yeah, that's it. On the phone it gives a [get] option which doesn't appear on a desktop browser.

Not got the watch yet, but I assume you search for the app/watchface in the Pebble app on your phone, and install from there?

The more I've looked at apps and the Pebble, the more I think my trial use is going to convince me an Android Wear watch is a better idea.

Pebble fan here, Had the orginal and then got the basic pebble time when it came out. standout features:
1) Charge only every 5-6 days
2) Great integration with endomondo
3) Health app inc sleep getting better and better
4) Silent alarm is fantastic (I get up at 5.30) and it means I can get up without disturbing my wife
5) Reject calls I dont want to take just from the watch and read texts discreetly in meetings etc
6) many different watch faces: Use the world time one, during the week at work and change it over for the weekend (would be neat if they could automate this)
Very happy customer here!
