Groove Armada "Blacklight" is truly awesome - unlike anything else they've ever done!

New Hot Chip album is pretty good too

The Very Best - Warm Heart of Africa is the (very) best album I've heard in a long time.

Sample tune here[/url]

It's like an elctro version of Graceland.

Oh and for folk (not normally my bag), check out Oh My God Charlie Darwin by The Low Anthem.

Bit like Fleet Foxes, but with balls.

From the USA.

Iron Chic - http://www.myspace.com/ironchicsmyspace
Cheap Girls - http://www.myspace.com/cheapgirls
Bridge and Tunnel (touring the UK in April I think) - http://www.myspace.com/bridgeandtunnelmusic

From the UK

Bangers - http://www.myspace.com/bangersbangers
The Dauntless Elite - http://virb.com/thedauntlesselite
The Cut ups - http://www.myspace.com/thecutupsfromexeter

...ok so they're 'punk' bands, but they're at the more rock end of that genre! 😉

For folk stuff you want Chuck Ragan - http://www.chuckraganmusic.com/ over here supporting Frank Turner soon.

Or with a more country vibe Drag The River - http://www.dragtheriver.com/

Glad you like them.

Had a bit of a splurge on CDs myself recently.

New Four Tet album is a bit of a grower too I think.

+1 Low Anthem, lovely album. Two I bought just this afternoon:
Blood Red Shoes ‘Fire Like This', and Tuung ‘and then we saw land' very impressed on first listening. Love Blood Red Shoes, amazing how much noise a little girl with a guitar and a bloke with a drumkit can make. Tuung are difficult to place, kinda folky, kinda dancy, but all good. Laura Marling has a new album out later this month which has to be worth checking out, I've had it on pre-order for a month. Emma Pollock from The Delgados has a new album just out, Biffy Clyro ‘Only Revolutions' and The Maccabees ‘Wall Of Arms' are recent buys I'm liking a lot, and If anyone's seen the current iPhone ad where they're showing Shazam, the track it highlights is by The Submarines, a really excellent band. Can't remember the track but the album is ‘Honeysuckle Weeks', and I love it to bits. Doesn't hurt that the lead singer, Blake Hazzard, (really), is just lovely. And she signed my album. I think the track is ‘You, Me & The Bourgeoisie'. Howling Bells are stunningly good, then there's Wolf Parade, Seal Cub Clubbing Club, Sunny Day Sets Fire, Stars, The Dears, Metric, Black Mountain, The New Pornographers...
I could go on, but that should keep you occupied for a bit. 😀
