Had a positive review at work last week (very lucky to be in a secure industry at the moment), and was offered a fairly blank slate on CPD.

I’ve never really done CPD before (aside from very industry specific stuff in a past life), so what kind of thing would you recommend to a (just) sub 30 year old who doesn’t have a clue which direction to take their career in?

Been looking at PRINCE2 for project management, but for no other reason than it might open some more interesting doors later on. Any other management, sales, procurement, contract negotiation qualifications worth looking at? Or anything more general I haven’t thought of?

Admissibility of Drill Music - CrimeLine Website
"A series of statements of the blindingly obvious presented as education" is how i described it in my cpd reflection log.

Maybe look at what chartered organisations are out there and if they appeal for whatever reasons. Also look at professional training providers e.g. BPP to see what they offer.

In terms of PPM, look at APM website for foundation courses before committing to a week of intensive PRINCEII Practitioner training. There's countless threads on here about PPM training. Obviously ideal if you work or can pull on experience of being involved in running projects.

Good luck.

If looking at PM go down the professional / institutes route rather than just a course as it gives you a broader business grounding
