Any genre. I'm finding sleep difficult to come by at the moment and music really helps.

Recommend me some kick back, drift off tunes. As I say-any genre so long as it's quality music.

Thanks all

Zero 7, Air, Portishead used to help me sleep. Also some of the Ministry of Sound Chillout albums.

My favourite genre but I grade it from 'tuneful' to 'mind-altering'.

For the latter - Wolfgang Voigt's 'Gas' project, either or all of the trilogy. It's as low key and sublimely soporific as I can imagine.

Also Orb 'Live 93'. A classic and very laid back, especially 'Valley', have listened to that on repeat many times in and out of blissful sleep.

Will have a gander thru playlist and recommend some more later.

Brian Eno - Ambient 1 - Music for Airports -- happened upon this rather late in the day and it's ace.
Would also suggest stuff like Miles Davis - In a Silent Way.

Possibly Philip Glass / Steve Reich, the less 'hard' or upbeat rhythmic stuff..

some ambient faves, not necessarily fit for purpose though:

Biosphere - Substrata
Alva Noto - Xerrox Vol1, Vol2 and Vol3
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 2
William Basinski - The Disintegration Loops
slowly getting on to Zomes a bit this year

and if you're not familiar with Autechre I suggest you get started - right at the beginning with Amber, then see how far you get. Their latest (4 hour!) album elseq 1-5 is ferocious but still peppered with moments of outstanding beauty

Max Richter's Sleep. The original is an 8 hours long but there is a 90 minute version which should serve you well.

The last track on the new Pita album 'Get In' called 'Mfbk' is fantastic. Surprising mellow for him, could loop for hours beautifully.

Prati Bagnati Del Monte Analogo by Lovisoni/Messina is super chilled as well...

Got days of 'ambient' stuff, just listing two of the things ive played today that would fit the op's criteria.

I'll suggest a couple for the benefit of others as well.

MC 900ft Jesus-One Step Ahead of the Spider
Jan Garberuk - Rarum on ECM
Pergolesi - Stabat Mater

Three from across the spectrum...

I put Melody AM by Royksopp on when I've had a crap day at work. I seem to remember a album the wife had in the 90s by Enigma ..... MCMXC she says it's called and she used that to relax

My mate does a chill out show on Estonian radio which is brilliant. He plays anything from DJ Shadow to Aphex Twin to Jimi Hendrix to the Ozric Tentacles. here's a link to the podcasts on iTunes itpc://heli.err.ee/helid/exp/2horisont.xml

I could give you a long list of stuff that is on my "sleep ipod", but all you need are these-

The Motion Sickness of Time Travel
Bvdub
Twos
Synkro
The Noisettes

most are available on Bandcamp

Moby recently released a Long Ambients album which is surprisingly superb ambient stuff.
