Have just discovered Sikamikanico, the B-side to Under the Bridge. Yeah! And "pretty little ditty" which isn't that obscure, it's on Mother's Milk.

good call...
I won £20 pounds at a pub quiz because I succesfully identified 'Fellas Cock' as the mystery tune. I should have waited till the next week and got £30.
I love that song;-)
lol@googling fellas cock at work
Fight Like a Brave and the Uplift Mofo Party Plan album. All downhill from there. (I saw them with Hillel on guitar don'tcha know.)
Uplift mofo party plan, definitely. "backwoods" was a long time favourite of mine.

+1
Always loved Hollywood and Knock Me Down too.
DezB...really jelous, I saw them on the forst UK tour w/John F., they were amazing...such a breath of fresh air.
For early stuff, I loved all of Freaky Styley, but for me, the standout track was Funky Crime, as it pretty much defined funk metal (for better or for worse ;-))
Knock Me Down
i think this is my all time fav' Chilli's song I get goosebumps when I hear it. Saw them on the 'Mothers milk' tour at Leeds uni bar. One of the roadies did the support slot( solo guitar and comedy routine) as the support band hadn't showed up.
Brothers Cup, with Fred Wesley and the Horny Horns
speaking of obscure Chilis stuff, has anyone got a copy of a bootleg live album from '92 called Tattoo Attack?
Had it, loved it, lent to a friend. Who lost it.
I was lucky enough to see them in early '90 at Sheffield Poly and was addicted to them for years. Used to collect all the CD singles inc imports I could find. I have a number of mixes of Give it Away which is a great track and Higher Ground was perhaps their 1st single to be more widely liked though the earlier Fight Like a Brave is cool with a fun video - I need to copy my 'What Hits' vid to DVD.
The 1st 2 albums are a bit more raw and funky than the later ones - True Men Don't Kill Coyotes is a good example.
Uplift Mofo Party Plan has it's moments but Mother's Milk is far better, Taste the Pain.
Wasn't so fond of Blood Sugar really though do like It Must be the Way I Feel - more so than Under the Bridge really, Breaking The Girl is nice too. Don't think that One Hot Minute was liked by many but I think pretty good.
Saw the 1990 (I think? with Scat Opera as support) at the Birmingham Hummingbird, great band.. Magic Johnson!
An old one:
LA Lakers, fast break breakers, kings of the court, shake and bake all takers ... or something like that.
To be honest I'm not sure how much 'un-known' stuff there is about out there, most of it got rinsed by EMI on the What Hits album didn't it?
Just grab the old albums, they are all good for a laugh! But there is nothing like State of Love and Trust in there (Old Pearl Jam classic as we are talking about that era).
scat opera! saw them way too many times supporting various "funk metal" bands around that time. as well as "the beyond" (from derby i believe; anyone remember them?).
i'm sure i saw the chilis at newcastle riverside with hillel too. i also saw faith no more with chuck moseley singing; that was an interesting night. he and jim martin ended up slugging it out on stage. bust noses all round!
Black eyed blonde
Oh and shouldn't that be Fela's Cock?
A tribute to Fela Kuti.
