OK then STW oracle, I'm getting married in the summer next year and want a band for the wedding. I've looked on line and there seems to be a lot of people out there and the choice is somewhat bewildering. They also seem to be bloody expensive.

So, does anyone know or recommend any soul/funk/blues/jazz type bands who would be interested in playing a wedding in July next year?

I saw The Jason Hart Band at a wedding in Nottingham & they were outstanding.

m8's in florida so hasn't the details to hand, but he does say if you ring Stourbridge music centre and ask for Matt, he is the keyboard player. Tell him "Deb" (female) recommended them via a friend, I'd suggest asking that you'd like to see them play before booking (plenty of time till next July).

I had a band at mine called "Tom the frop", have seen them a few times at various functions. They are very entertaining

I think they are superb.

We had Basket Case (from Nottingham) at our wedding. Fantastic! The dance floor was rammed... But punk and new wave covers isn't everyone's idea of wedding music!

we had http://www.thesunband.info when we got married near ashbourne.

Their website looks a bit rubbish, but they were brilliant. Good music and very good at interacting with us / playing more of what we were clearly liking, less of stuff that didn't get people up and dancing.
