+1 Casio digital

Used daily out on delivery for about 5 years in all weathers and still going strong despite a few scuffs to the chrome. Clearly tells both the time and date for writing your p739's. Still on the original battery too.
Hard to beat, especially with the price so low.

Throwing something different out there - Bertucci watches are nice, and you can get nice Nato straps as well if you fancy different straps for every day.p

I like Casio with their tough solar, atomic time and multi-time band features.

If not Casio it will be other Japanese watch brands.

I have had this one for a couple of years. Hands down the best watch I’ve ever had.
Casio G Tech AWG-M100.
Reduced from £133 to £79 on Amazon Prime.

Yes, this, I am currently wearing mine, had it for years and seems pretty indestructible, it’s not too big either. Solar powered too so no batteries worry about.

Timex expedition for me too. £18 from Argos and it keeps time better than my 14ct gold Rolex that's worth quite a bit more.

I wear it cycling, windsurfing, diving, SDS drilling, the lot. Get a nice NATO strap and show it off.

Uzi Guardian £32.50 from Cadet Direct.

Comes with either a rubber or velcro strap. Don't take it past 120 metres and you'll be ok.

Casio GD100-1B for me - seems to shrug off abuse and screams for more.

The Apeks linked to by whathaveisaidnow. Got mine free with a sub to Dive magazine, intended to use as a dive watch as a timer backup to computer but has turned into everyday watch. Hands, luminous bits, day/date, keeps good time. Glass is recessed which protects it. it's had the odd ding and has been down to 40m sea water and still looks good.

Timex - Expedition or IronMan

Four button preferred for simplicity.

Timex Ironman for me here. Had it since 2008 and it's been through one trip to the gulf and two to Afghan. The strap is starting to go, but it keeps working. When it finally dies, I have no idea what to get. This is simple, it works, it's rugged and I really like the indiglo at night.

And, in true STW style, it gets worn more than the Tag.

In the spirit of recommending what you have....
I used to get through loads of watches but my current G shock still looks like new after a year of biking, surfing, kayaking, chainsaw and site work.

tbh any G-Shock would do

I personally like the Solar Waveceptor ones - no battery to worry about and always set to correct time

just pick one you like the look of
