Basically I want to watch UK telly on my iPad on holiday - iplayer, all4, now TV etc. Anyone have any recommendations for something that works, is straightforward, and isn't too expensive? Thanks!!!!

NordVPN. Have been using it for a year or so and it’s seems pretty solid. I know others are recommended too.

Windscribe could be worth a look - it's free up to a certain amount of data - 10Gb I think.

Not used it for ages but the Hola extension for Chrome always worked well for that purpose.

you don't necessarily need a VPN for what you are describing. I use "smart DNS" - works well

Another vote for Nord, their Nordlynx protocol is pretty quick. I did find Netflix can sometimes detect that you are on a VPN (by IP address I assume) and you cannot then access it. I would recommend taking a free trial, connecting to a uk server and seeing if you can access the services you want to use abroad.

Nord for me.
Good support if you need it. I had problems when having to use a slow connection on the ship I work on. Sorted me out very quickly

I heard some bad things about Hola (and most free VPNs) selling your data on to others.

if you have a fast connection to home some routers can act as vpn server, so you can vpn back home and then go back out - so it will matter what your uplink speed is.

It seems like this needs access to your router, and not suitable if you're using mobile internet - is that right?
