I'm looking for a waterproof duffle bag ( about 40-50 litres) that will take abuse and last a good few years. Forget the Outboard stuff, you're lucky if you get 18 months out of that cr@p.

try Lomo. I have a 30ltr waterproof rucksack. when I bought it, I filled it with water to see if it worked. emptied the water out a day later, with no leaks at all.

Ortlieb used to do a PD620 bag that is pretty robust. By abuse, what kind of use? I've used number over the years in the outdoors (sailing, kayaking and gorge walking) and they all pick up rips eventually- double (or triple for submersion!) bagging (with the outer being sacrificial is the only way around this..

Lobos are looking good, and a good price too. Thanks all.

Alpkit Drydock is doing well for me. None in stock though, you'd have to preorder for end of Feb.

I've still got my aldi version in the garage. Bought it for a potential motorcycle trip but never happened so it's still sitting there in it's packaging.... one day....

Just seen these half price at Needle Sports in Keswick. I think the fabric is waterproof - not sure about all the zips though.

Polaris one was 15quid not long ago.

Its nothing special but it appears to stand up to water.

That's the sort of question best asked at a yachting chandlery.

I bought a pair of the crane dry duffle bags last winter from aldi/Lidl so they are only a year old.

However in that time they've been manhandled on two flights, spent 3.5weeks used on a small yacht, spent a week in the back of a pickup truck driving round Iceland, been in canoes, boats, stuffed in the roof box on the camper every second weekend approximately, thrown in dinghies and generally treated with no care.

After all that they are in perfect condition with no discernible wear at all. Proven to be totally waterproof.

Would recommend.

got a polaris one for junior's swimming kit when they were £15
(pull bouys, flippers, paddles etc etc)

its a hefty bag. Very tough. A couple of fussy extra unnecessary straps but welds and seam seals look good. 40 litres. and a removable inner dry bag. Boy will do well to destroy it.

£20 still a decent price
