We are basically on 1 LED 30w floodlight under the eaves of the house per year these days, and as much as I can order any ip65/66 panel LED PIR light from Screwfix or Amazon, I'd like to find one that doesn't go wrong for a few years.

Any recommendations?

LAP ones from Screwfix seem OK - had ours years and tend to also buy their LED worklights for working on the cars

These Collingwood ones appear to be decent and a well regarded brand by a sparky mate. IP65 and good for coastal areas. Had these up for 2 years and about 500m from the sea, no signs of wear.

I’ve got a couple of cheapo Dial Solar powered units (B&Q), a good few years old. The batteries are degrading obviously, but still work.
They were bought on a whim.
One even spent a week in the pond after a bout of clumsiness on my part.

I can definitely recommend these: https://www.electricalsonline.co.uk/product-page/vm-cw-ip?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4vKpBhCZARIsAOKHoWRw3T2V84JTrWQTRvjJ2KwDOYbb696YqFXqiw4AtEeUbEwdCllOYQYaArt1EALw_wcB

made in the UK from pretty much the best quality components. They are designed for use in areas where replacing them would be difficult so are very reliable. They are expensive but are high quality.

I bought some IP66 rated LED floodlights from Amazon - they’re completely sealed and still working after 2 years given we’re on the coast and regularly get 50mph+ winds in winter. The expensive IP65 ‘outdoor’ lights that I fitted originally filled with water and tripped my electrics.

ive bought the b&q and screw fix ones and they fail after a couple of yrs. drives me mad. thread bookmarked as I have 2 to replace.

I did have a coupe of higher ones fitted by a sparky but although they work they seem to be only randomly sensitive to someone being in their switch on zone. they drive me nuts!

"They are expensive...."

understatement of the weekend....

You could buy 52 screw fix lights for the same price..... at the rate I replace them that light would need to last 100 years....

I have a number of floods from this series installed, have been totally reliable for years. Again, you get what you pay for, sometimes. Some are under eaves and one is in a very exposed position in northern Scotland.

You might get away with a lower wattage light if you were to position it lower down from the eaves (it also reduces light pollution) ?

I have put up Osram LED lights and they have lasted 8 years plus.

Just a suggestion but make sure when you fit them that you get a good seal on the cable where it enters the light.

Can second Osram and also recommend Steinal fittings.  Fitted both professionally and had no issues 😊👍

Same experience with screwfix so went to a proper electrical factor and asked for a suitable lamp. Paid about 35 I think, plus wago box. So far it's fine, 2 years and 2 winters in. It still has non replaceable led, which is nuts

This one has round cable coming out of the gland, which then goes in the bottom of the wago so looks good from a ingress pov.

Anyone got a recommendation for one that isn't too bright?

We've fitted some Screwfix ones about 4 years ago but they're crap, the Infra-red doesn't work half the time.
