I am after a recommendation for a nice comfortable pen, my old Parker jotter is starting to leave a nice divot in my finger since starting my Law degree.
Ball point or rollerball up to around £30, really cant be arsed with the faff of a fountain pen.
ignore, linked the wrong pen and it's well over budget
I like the Parker IM range - they're just a little fatter in the barrel than many, which I prefer. May well help with your divot! I find Jotters too narrow.
When the clip broke off my old one, I found a ...ummm... clip-on clip to replace it so I could keep using it. Last one eventually died of the plastic and unserviceable bits in the top that make the click work wearing out. Annoying when a few pence more on metal parts might well have lasted many times longer (planned obsolescence?), but I still bought another from the range. In fact, I bought the fancy laser-etched space one, on sale (still on sale at the link); it's a bit lighter than the metal/grid pattern one I had first, and I'll go back to that next time: sorry for amazon link
Shop around, there's usually some variety on sale price somewhere all the time.
Fisher Space Pen. Can write up side down. Good smooth writing.
How about a Staedtler Triplus Roller 403 SB4 Triangular Rollerball - it's a triround shape which should be less pressure on the contact patch of the fingers. I'm sure I've seen similar with a silicone portion too but no idea what to search for to find it. Any decent stationers should have a good selection.
LAMY AL-star Rollerball Pen
Writes nicely for me. Expensive enough I care where I put it. Cheap enough that I don't lose a night's sleep when you forget where that was.
Can’t help with pen recommendations, but I had to sign my name for my new motability lease car yesterday on 3 separate bits of paper, it’s been that long since I held a pen that I had to have a few goes at it, then I forgot how to sign my name, all 3 signatures were entirely different.
I can hold an Apple Pencil though 🙂
I have a couple of Bastion bolt action pens that I quite like. They are quite weighty. I have the fully stainless one as well as the carbon

Self-confessed pen geek here. My current obsession is with Kaweco Sport stuff. Their brass models are amazing but a bit above your 30 quid limit. If you don't mind a lighter pen, their plastic Sport models would do the trick nicely. The rollerball pen body takes Parker-style G2 refills so could be a rollerball (Kaweco's own refills are nice to use), a ballpoint (use your favourite refill and ink type), or even a knock-off space pen since pressurised G2 refills are available.
A Kaweco obsessed pen geek's pocket, just now...

Pilot Dr Grip ball point pen is a good 'un. Faber Castell Grip Plus are quite comfy too
I also have a Schneider Ray rollerball - its ergonomic but also very clever as it used standard fountain pen cartridges so is very easy to "refill"

1+ that's what I used for all the finals Exams.
That or a basic bic ballpoint.
I love the look of the Kaweco Sport - I might try to make one using a Fisher Space Pen refill.

There was a time when I routinely had to sign so many things a day that my signature morphed over a period of about a year from basically writing my name (when I had to 'sign and print' they both looked the the same) into something that appeared to spell 'God'
Oooooooo… pen porn! 😂 There can beconly one. Rotring Tikky Graphic Fineliner. German engineering where you need it most. Buy the 3 pack 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 and use according to what you’re doing.

Just the best pens ever made. Full stop. I haven’t used anything else for years. Cheap as chips too
I just happened to have bought myself a Lumos Duo from Toms Studio and lovely it is too. Not quite fountain pen levels of faff.
I haven’t used a pen properly in about 35yrs but wanted to tap into my creative side, so not much to compare with, but I like it.
I don’t get the tales of faff about fountain pens? Use them until ink runs out then pop more ink in. 🤷♂️
I have two Parker ones on the go all the time.

I’m loving my Retro 51 Tornado classic rollerball. Can be had for £30 ish.
