Little bit of a house fire, nothing too bad but both my nanos were destroyed and I need to replace them. Budget of max £100 or a wee bit more. Must have Bluetooth of course. Ideally have a weight of less than 50g. It'll be replacing a 7th gen nano which was a pretty cool bit of kit. Looking to move away from Apple coz getting iTunes to do what I want was a pita. A simple drag and drop of folders will be ideal.
Thanks all.

SONY make some epic Walkmen these days. I've had a couple of the HD audio ones and they've been pretty good.

What about your phone? Assuming it's not an iPhone but is a smartphone that is.

It's an iPhone, an old SE and the battery drops to 1% in a few minutes and no memory due to pics. I want a small dedicated mp3 player that'll do for the car as well as cycling.

That FiiO looks excellent. I've had some of their gear in the past and rate it highly.

The fiiO's are decent wee players with good support but this HiBy may be worth a look at

The easiest way to get music on to your iPhone is to use Waltr 2. Just literally drag the songs or albums in the open Waltr app and drop and Waltr does the rest, even finding album artwork.

😳 Have you bothered weighing your phone? And you asked for less than 50g, 38g is less than 50g, according to my meagre mathematical skills.

Do any of these have an easy way to get podcasts onto them or would you need to copy manually onto the SD card?

I take it back about the weight I hadn't seen the Fiio M5, so I'll be having that one I reckon.
Thanks guys.

To be fair, I still have iTunes on my Mac, but it’s a ten year old Mini, and iTunes is purely to rip CD’s into then copy the files onto my phone, which is a straightforward process anyway; select all the tracks wanted to copy to the device, tap the ‘burger’ on any track, select copy to ‘device’, then sync the device. Ok, it’s not quite as quick as drag-and-drop, but it’s really not that difficult to do, or take very long either.
