Standard desk jockey question which I don't doubt has been asked before.
Need some headphones for video call and the like, need to be noise cancelling and have a reasonable mic. Also need to be Bluetooth as sometimes they'll be used with a laptop, sometimes with an iPhone. If they happen to come in a case that can take been thrown around in a laptop bag that'd be useful too.
Don't mind spending some (my companies) money on it, but don't want to take the proverbial.
https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/a-decent-wireless-headset-for-work/ was a recent thread (although specifically wireless)
Sony xm5's.
Great noise cancelling not cheap mind, but if work are paying....
Anker Q30 get great reviews and are pretty decent for music listening too, apparently.
My wife and I have been using  Jabra Evolve 75s since the start of Lockdown. Still in perfect condition and with no issues at all. Quite expensive but good sound and noise cancelling. Can be connected to multiple devices simultaneously too, so you can answer your phone while in a Teams meeting for instance.
Get the right tool for the job - if that's voice/video calls that's the likes of Jabra rather than a non-conferencing focussed headset. I'm a big fan of my Jabra Evolve 65's but they may been superseded by now.
I've got the Bose QuietComfort 45 as in chevychase's link that work paid for. What I like about them other than the noise canceling is I can listen to music on my own phone and when a call comes in on my work phone it automatically cuts to that phone.
Bose nc700 for large heads, I'm a 62-64cm and they fit very nicely.
Connects to my win10 laptop, does Teams call and is connected to my phone at the same time which is nice. No switching between headsets if you want to play music in between calls.
Ear muffs only lasted about three years but 20 quid replacements off Amazon work nicely (I can't tell the difference).
Two non-obvious things: older headphones may not all the codecs on your laptop. My JBLs didn't support Teams. That's probably a dead problem by now.
The ability to have simultaneously have connections to 2 devices is more useful, qs said above. Otherwise you have to go into settings panel on each occasion
