So it's nearly mrs Crispos birthday.

Seen as we have just got married and been bought everything we could possibly ever need or want from John Lewis I think a weekend away could be a good birthday present.

Have done it before and stayed at the drunken duck in the lakes and that went down a storm.

So looking for something quite similar but in Yorkshire Dales this time as fancy a change of scenery.

So best hotels/posh pub inns that you can think of in the Dales. Extra marks if they do good beer and food or have a good pub near by!

My favourite Dale is Swaledale, take a look here:

NB My family has a cottage in Muker, so never had to stay in a B&B / Hotel.

Devonshire Fell at Burnsall is great and quite posh. Our lass is posh(er than me!) and this is one of her favourite places to eat.

The Angel is also very good for food.

Have stayed at the Devonshire fell but unfortunately it's fully booked! That's the kind of thing I'm looking for!

Angel is booked up to! That's what happens when you leave it until after the honeymoon to look!

That's the kind of area I'm looking at though!

Living there its always difficult to recommend somewhere to stay, but it would have to be near here for the beer, thinking about it.
Near Here for the food and beer.
So the Fell at Burnsall would be good or if you have loads of money here

Good quality B&B in a tiny picturesque village

http://www.lintonlaithe.co.uk/

Fountain Arms is a 1 minute walk across the old pack horse bridge and over the village green, food hit and miss but has been excellent. A table in the snug is quite romantic, or can be!

The Star Inn at Harome near to Helmsley http://www.thestaratharome.co.uk/

Handy for the eastern part of the Dales and also places like Castle Howard.

Devonshire Arms near Bolton Abbey does great food - tasting menu is awesome. Think they have a Michelin star. Our room wasn't amazing but it has a nice pool//sauna etc.

There's a couple of nice pubs in Swaledale owned by the same people - Charles Bathhurst is one, can't remember the name of the other. Not mega posh but very nice.

The CB inn - aka Charles Bathurst.. look no further.
Middle of nowhere but upmarket, very comfortable and not over expensive.
Best ploy is to call them and ask about any offers - they usually find some way to cut the bill and encourage people to stay.
I`ve stayed there twice, food is as gourmet as you like and the rooms comfortable - take your walking boots, Gods own country .. 😆

Ive stayed here a few times with the better half.... http://www.yorebridgehouse.com/ Pricey but well worth it, Great rooms, the food is just delicious and the rooms have Hot Tubs! Awesome views down the river as well, close to Hawes, some great riding on the doorstep.

How big is your budget? Not to everyones taste, but avery nice relaxed country hotel and restaurant. Very very nice Michelin food, swimming pool etc etc.

Mrs FD and myself have stayed twice, even though we only live about 15 miles away!

You can even turn up in your helicopter.

They do tend to do deals on dinner, bed and breakfast. If you havent eaten Michelin food before you would be in for an amazing surprise. (make sure its dinner in the Burlington Restaurant)

Yeah I recommended it up there - got a mate who worked there so we got 1/3rd off our food and wine bill. 8)

The tasting menu was really amazing - good they have a vege one too as my wife is that way inclined. As I said we weren't that blown away by our room though - nothing wrong with it but it seemed a bit small.
