My trusted Panasonic TZ30 has somehow got sand inside the lens and is taking shabby photos now.

Any recommendations for a good quality camera that will survive out on the hills and doesn't mind getting wet or mucky? Pics from said cameras would be handy to see if you have any.. 😉

Olympus tough TG3 or TG4?

Waterproof, tough, pocketable

Lumix FT30 is waterproof and pretty tough. I have the older version (FT20), I've got some nice photos from it.

A few examples.

Another vote for the Olympus here. Buy the best version you can afford, basically. The tap controls for using with gloves are very clever too.

I've got a Sony TX30. It fits in a jersey pocket and is [s]sweat[/s]waterproof, but not shockproof..

Another vote for the Sony TX30.

Small, waterproof, good pictures, ready to shoot as soon as the cover has been slid down.
Also takes good movies.

Sony kicks bottom at every level now. I use an a6000 but that's a bit bulky and does mind getting wet and muddy. Those tx30 photos are very impressive!

If you don't go tough get a Sony Rx100. They suddenly don't seem crazy expensive

In good light the photos will be just the same. But they will be ahead under lower light. Say in a wood in winter
