Wanting to have a couple of nights away in the New Forest in May and would like recommendations for a motorhome friendly campsite please.
Longbeech near Fritham defo takes motorhomes - pretty low on facilities so I suspect only those and caravans use it
It's small and seems pretty quiet whenever we cycle through it (MrsPants likes to. It's actually on one of the few legit NF cycle routes - graveltastic mate). Not that far from the A31 dual carriageway but I'd guess you don't really hear it
I'd say you're about a Km from the nearest pub (through the forest, not on the legit bike route)

I’m looking to book on to Redshoot Camping Park later today if anyone has any experience, or any other recommendations?
I've not stayed at any of them. Redshoot seems very family oriented when I've passed, so if you're after a quiet time, MAYBE not?? Pub seems OK and there's some pretty nice walking (not biking, obvz - that isn't permitted, you know) trails around there
I stayed on Redshoot, very pleasant place with nice walks in the forest. Clean washroom, friendly staff.
If you decide to stay at Longbeech the Oak pub at Fritham is definitely worth a visit.

Agreed - it's not actually your closest (Walter Tyrell) but it's great. Not much on the menu (no cooked meals beyond quiche) and not open every day but the beer's good and varied and your ride back to Longbeech is pretty much flat after the first short dip
I can tell you one not to stay in - Hurst View on the outskirts of Lymington. Should be a great site given the location but when we visited it felt like a travellers camp. I was actually offered the chance to buy a puppy whilst walking to the loo from a fat kit sat in front of a caravan with a little pen full of puppies outside. Quite surreal...*
*this was a number of years ago so maybe its better now.
