I'm after a work bag. Don't want it to look like a paper delivery bag from my childhood days, but got to look business like, practical, to fit a small laptop, documents that sort of thing.

I have this one personally and it looks great, very hard wearing:

If you're anywhere near that there london, these bags are all over the Camden markets and you can haggle a better price too usually.

The missus got me one of these when I needed a bag for carrying around baby supplies and refused point blank to lug around the massive 'nappy bag' she'd bought.

Since then it's done sterling service on days out and business trips, just about fits a small laptop and is perfect for an Ipad. If it's anything like as well made as my 10 year old Chrome messenger bag I'll probably be leaving it in my will.

Subtlely bikey too, which is always a bonus.

Also has pockets for insulated mugs, cans of drink, tennis balls, frag and smoke.

I saw these great bags in Barcelona last month. Recycled from banners used to advertise events so each is unique.

These from Oberon Design are just lovely.

Not cheap and you may get stung by import duty (I think my colleague was hit for around £80) but of the absolute highest quality...

they also does these leather and canvas ones which are slightly less not cheap

Howies bag for life - do they still do those? Mines 4ish years old now but gets used daily to lug laptop and stuff to and from the office on the train. Absolutely faultless so far...

All Oberon stuff is handmade to order and is of the absolute highest quality and unfortunately comes with a price accordingly.

I have a few of their Kindle covers and the like and they just gorgeous.

Agree, the manbags are very expensive but yes, having seen the quality of the good they supply, I would buy one if funds (and Mrs Danny) allowed.

Brooks do a nicely understated bag: http://www.brooksengland.com/catalogue-and-shop/bags/cycle+bags+%26+accoutrements/BRIXTON+Tote+%26+Shoulder+Bag/
And Chappeau do a couple of what they describe as messenger bags, but are more shoulder/laptop bags. Tasty, but not cheap: http://www.chapeaucycling.co.uk/hide-hard-leather-messenger-bag-brown.html
