My current laptop is over 10 years old, battery life is poor, USB ports are slack & don't hold a lead firm, & its looking very tatty.

For home use only,I only use it for internet surfing, basic spreadsheets, strava, storing photo's, letter writing, etc & would like it to come with windows installed.

What would you recommend?

What would you recommend?

In this particular case, using the forum's search function.

This question has been asked like weekly for the last ten years, there's been at least two this week and it's only Wednesday. It would be literally impossible in 2020 to buy a laptop which doesn't meet your requirements.

Yeah, a refurbished one. Much better vfm. Loads of sellers online.
All will come with W10 nowadays.
Most with an SSD.

That's what I did - though it's worth noting that Garmin Express doesn't work on Chromebooks if the OP uses a Garmin/Strava combo, makes it tricky for updates

Other than that, boot times are infinitely faster. System updates take about 1-2 minutes, including reboot. For  some sort of comparison, my 5 year old laptop took 4 hours to reinstall Win 10

I got a HP folding thing with i3 8th gen processor, and 8gb RAM and a 256gb card for extra storage. Never looked back
