Going next month, looking somewhere very close and walking distance to tourist spots. Cheers

Hotel 47 was good, fairly small boutique style place with nice rooftop bar and restaurant. Decent location too

I can thoroughly recommend getting an apartment.

We stayed in a quirky rooftop place overlooking via sannio market and basilica san giovanni. Not coming up on Google but if i find it I'll post a link.

Rome is so hectic, having you're own space to chill for half the day is fantastic

And there's so many good food shops you can feed yourself pretty cheaply

Not this place but very similar

Ours was much more basic (v cheap) - some might say a bit of a hole! Great view and location though

not cheap but walking distance to everything (I don't mind walking a few miles).

Hotel Coronet, just off the Piazza Venezia. Basic but nice, some rooms back on to the Doria Pamphili palace gardens (building used to be part of the palace). Within easy walking distance of most of the touristy bits and lots of nice cafes.

I asked the same question a few years ago and was recommended to go to the "Franklin, feel the sound" hotel.

It was splendid. Great location, great hotel, if a bit quirky.

Basic but immensely friendly, good location - heading into 'touristy' Rome on foot with the baby buggy and an 18 month old was no problem.

Lovely restaurants and bars nearby, where a lovely bar is not necessarily a trendy one!

Strolling distance for la maremma restaurant, which we thought was great for meat!

An awesome ice cream place nearby too!

We had four nights in Hotel Regno in August. Great location, comfortable and a bit quirky but perfect for sight seeing.
