Anyone got any good recommendations?

Any quality make like Fruit of the Loom, Goldman, Under Armour, there’s loads
Carhartt do a heavy rain resist work hoodie, but they ain’t cheap!

Thing is, any reasonably priced heavy cotton hoodie, if looked after, can easily last twenty years, I’ve got some older than that, same with tee shirts, I’ve got some over thirty years old, still wearing them! I did come across this, which is fleece, which will last forever, which might be worth a look at...

TACVASEN Windproof Men's Military Fleece Combat Jacket Tactical Hoodies https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M3SBW54/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_CVBXEb33CCHP2

I’ve got a lovely baggy Polartec hoodie, in that rough, Berber-style fleece, the label says Low Pressure by Stormforce, I can’t find any web reference for it, it’s got to be getting on for thirty years old, and it’s irreplaceable, if I look after it, it’ll outlast me!

Howies. I had one that I virtually lived in for god knows how many years, then my daughter nicked it and it’s still going strong

Do you want sporty, casual, formal? Lightweight, heavyweight? Some great deals on SportPursuit at the moment.

Have Fruit Of The Loom progressed in the last 20 years from Edinburgh Woollen Mill to quality garments?

I've an old Howies one that has lasted for about 15 years so far, somewhat faded mind. Also, the Singletrack one, I'll recommend that one based on fit - I'm 6' tall, but slim, so a small, but it is long in both body and sleeve and therefore fits better than any other I've owned. I'll tell you in 15 years how it has lasted.

eyestwice - heavyweight and casual please. I want it to look like I've grown up around campfires!

Countzero - carhartt are the best I've seen so far, I'll take a look at Goldman though, ain't heard of them.

Binners - Ben - Howies look decent but stock on their website is non-existant. Any stockists you know of?

+1 for Howie's. As with all Howie's clothing it'll last age's and remain very comfy

Got gifted a hoodie by a vendor; Cotton Ridge

Thick, good quality, source of ongoing household conflict as to who owns it

Their tech hoodies are brilliant, great for training runs, layering on rides etc.

I've just been through similar for a sweat top that I'll wear pretty much every day at work (I work outdoors), I settled on a Carhartt Chase which is also available as a hoody, 58/42% Cotton/Polyester Heavy Sweat, 13 oz. Picked mine up for £45 after shopping around.

I bought this in the Sale, the Explore is an amazing item and has become my go to keeping warm casual item, its like wearing a mini radiator it generates some great even warmth:

If you can find one without a garish design on the front, Dakine Hoodies are fantastic.

The are quite generous fit wise. I gave a couple of my old ones to my eldest lad and they stood up to two years of back packing around china and the far east. I don't think he's had them off his back.

Got a 20yr old Mambo hoody. Plain blue, it's the fire pit, post race drinks staple all year. Thick cotton and outstandingly hard wearing. No idea if Mambo stuff is any good still but it's one of my favourite possessions.

I do like a Fox hoody.
Tend to buy them in the sales though because I'm a tight wad.

Not that one, if you want maximum virility enhancement the wolves must be howling at the moon

Here you go, check out the reviews on this.  You want the hoodie version

Or a hoodie

Yeah, wrong photo chosen, pretty sure there’s a hoodie version, but like I said, the Carhartt ones look really good, intended for workwear, but, like Dickies, the skaters seem to have adopted it.

Not that one, if you want maximum virility enhancement the wolves must be howling at the moon

It’s when you get a couple wearing matching ones that’s really cringe-worthy somehow.
The fleece ones are even worse.

I've got a couple of Silverstick hoodies. Think they're Brighton based. Easily as hard wearing as the 2 Cathcart I have.

A bit pricey but by far the comfiest is BAM. only had it since Christmas so can't comment on the hard wearing side.

I've still got a couple of North face ones which are at least 15 years old. They've been relegated to gardening/painting duties though.
