Hey all,
Headinfor a week of doing absolutely nothing in the sun and am looking at audio boos. Last ones I read were the god delusion and accidental billionaires. Any recommendations for a good read? (or listen):-D
Blood Meridian - Cormac McCarthy
Midnight's Children
er... those are the ones I read on my holiday 🙂
SF-type stuff: Neal Stephenson's last one was v good - Anathem. Big but a page turner.
Gene Wolfe has a new one out just recently that is meant to be a massive return to form - The Sorcerer's House. Not read it yet myself though.
Feet in the Clouds is a great read, although a lot of people have probably read it already on here.
My missus has just started Omensetter's Luck by William Gass and is praising it to the skies - good tip if you like to take on crushingly difficult authors.
Shantaram by Gregory David Robertson. Without a doubt, the best book I've ever read.
Let the right one in .. .awesome book.
I found this quite amusing

If you have any interest in Military aviation at all, then Vulcan 607 (Roland White), Apache (Ed Macey), Dressed To Kill (Charlotte Hudson), Chickenhawk (Robert Mason), Sea Harrier Over the Falklands (Sharky Ward) and Immediate Response (Mark Hammond) are worth a read
