You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
The punch in our print room (Rapesco 4400) has just punched its last after 4 years of hard work.
Are there any superior products to this that are up to punching up to 150 sheets of 100gsm?
The Rapesco cost almost £200 and I thought it would last longer than it did. What other options are there?
Thanks in advance
*quite possibly the dullest thread title even in this current climate of extremely dull threads (recommend me a good bread knife etc..)
Just buy a loud of Christmas crackers. There always seems to be those little hole punches in them. God knows why. When you have 4, simply nail them all at regular intervals on a plank, pocket the rest of the lucre and have a game of patience with the tiny deck of cards you now have 7 of

Charlie - you got me 😳
You don't mess about when it comes to stationary do you!! 150 sheets in a oner? Our binder gets stroppy with more than 5 pages of standard A4, none of this 100gsm "card" stuff
In all the excitement I double posted. Might have to go and lie down...
TimP - brace position! Get THIS:
I contacted Rapesco and they have offered to repair the punch under warranty.
Swoooooooon.
I'm gonna have a beer on the back of this tale of goodwill tonight.
You two REALLY need to get out more.
Or possibly talk to each other via the medium of real face to face contact, not conversing through STW messenger. 🙄
OMG!!101 WTF is that sticking out of the bottom of punch-woman's skirt (or is it something going up, anaconda maybe) ?

150 sheets?
HA! that's exactly what I do! I even made a jig to put the paper in and clamp up then use a pillar drill.
Well I was in need of a HD two hole punch for a job that starts next week and, after seeing the Rapesco love on here, have just secured the purchase of a Rapesco 2160 (with a retail value of approx £200) for the princely sum of £10.71 on the bay of thieves - I do believe I may have been the thief in that transaction 🙂
Well. This tale has taken a sorry turn. My beloved 4400 is still at Rapesco and I am finding it nigh on impossible to get an update on its progress. I have sent two very polite emails to Anne ******* in the Service Dept.. I've had read receipts but no response. This morning I phoned to ask the question using my voice and words. I was put on hold while the "engineer" was consulted. "Can I call you back?" he said. Several hours later and no call back. I rang again to use my voice and some words again. This time I was told it was with the "engineer" and....get this "he's just about to start work on it." A veritable taxi firm response!
Anyway - my print room operative has got a huge backlog (uplog?) of punching and I'm getting a bit nobbed off.
So Sharkbait - my Rapesco love has been retracted forthwith.

Erm..... how does one become a pasty technician?
I think we should all email Anne ******* at Rapesco and ask for this problem to be resolved a tout vitesse.
Especially if she is the lady above who is demonstrating the tensile strength of the wrap-over blouse...

Stay out of the sun, young jedi.
This thread's on the first page of a Google search for "Rapesco hole punch repair" 🙂
