So chefs the time has come to upgrade. I am a tart in the kitchen so I am happy to buy decent brands that will last thinking or creuset, kitchenaid any experiences or other bright ideas welcome. Non induction btw and electric not gas!
Had to take the copper set from sainsburys back as they were rubbish , anodising just wore off in a couple of washes!
De Buyer carbon steel frying pans as cast iron is too heavy.
As for pots anything 3-ply stainless steel with aluminum core if I were to buy again, such as Le Creuset or John Lewis own brands both from John Lewis. These will do for me.
In classic STW not-answering-the-question style...
If you're a tart in the kitchen, buy a decent cooker! Who the hell uses electric hobs? They are the devil's work.
Skoda Octavia, Berlingo, Numatic, Miele, Le Creuset, Sabatier. 🙂

Gas cooker with turbo burner is what you want.
That's what I want ...
😀
We just got a set of Swiss Diamond non-stick and so far really great. Sold a set of expensive stainless steel that I liked, but mrs busydog didn't care for as they were too heavy as she has some wrist issues.
I had a look at mine made by Stellar, stainless steel now around 17 years old but still in great condition. Really well made and long lasting.
We spent quite a bit on some good pans when we got married. Stainless steel with a copper bottom. We use them every day on electric, halogen and gas over the time and they are good as new. Not worth recommending the make as things will probably have changed in the intervening 39 years.
Triple ply set of three Le Creuset pans from John Lewis - really happy with ours.
Circulon
Big cooking fan. I have a set of Meyer pans bought around 8 years ago they are still perfect. Just recently bought the two sizes of frying pans, Meyer again and again cannot fault them.
Watch out for them in debenhams sales as occasionally you get a really good deal. My frying pans were £48 half price.
Just got a set of stackable Lakeland Ceramic jobs which were £90, and knock the stuffing out of the silly expensive Circulon ones I had previously. They are also in awesome bright colours 😉
I may be feeling your pain in the future - gas isn't available in all the houses we are looking at, if that happens I am going to miss the gas hob 🙁
