That looks great. I have Necronomicon and New York XXIV.
I think I have pdf of the former somewhere.

I downloaded the HR Geger Necronomicon recently, might have been prompted by something on here. Maybe. It's here anyway:

Dimensions of the book OP links to are rather small. Taschen know that people look for a high page count above other details.

Challenge is the original large format boots go for silly money so unless you find one at a car boot or eBay for a daft low price you’re probably stuck with the rights and reprint buyers like Taschen.
I’m sure the Taschen book is worth £20 but it’s nothing compared to the originals in scale and impact.

Blimey, this reminded me I have a copy of the DKs album frankenchrist with the original poster of gigers Penis Landscape. I do wonder what my mind mum thought of that on her teenage kids bedroom wall 🤣

I would guess those books were still silly money by comparison to the average price of books at the time of publication. Size, length of print-run, etc.

I had that book the OP links to in soft cover as an A level art student mid '90s, straight outta Bookseller.

Imagery was all a bit dark for me tbh.
